A little more macabre than my usual illustrations. This is an entry for the Daemoness competition, the idea is to encapsulate the viking way of life. My main inspiration for my submission is on a viking saying from the Hávamál:

Cattle die, kinsmen die, you yourself die; I know one thing which never dies:

the fate of the honored dead.
