Double Loop (2025) explores an innovative making process developed over many years of experimentation that transforms a humble material into jewellery forms. Using cotton rag paper that is soft to touch yet pliable to work with, thin strips are woven onto steel cable according to sequences of millimetre measurements to create long strands of tightly compressed folds that are seamlessly inter-looped. This making method seeks a sense of movement and visual harmony through the intertwined configuration and synthesis of the two strands further enhanced by the rhythmic effects of grey, white, green and pink colours, gradually interspersed throughout the work. Time is imbued in the labour-intensive processes that highlights the value of craft skill and draws attention to the beauty of pattern and ornamentation.
